2023 BMW X1 News, Redesign, Review, and Specs. Thanks to its small proportions, agile handling, and upscale features, the new 2023 BMW X1 makes a standout in its class. Entering exactly its seventh model year on sale, the forthcoming crossover will be a carryover model.
The last time this SUV was fully-redesigned, it has been passed precisely five years. BMW currently offers one powertrain under the X1 model that consists of a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine producing 228 hp. The engine is connected to an eight-speed automatic transmission using the front-wheel-drive as standard. Of course, all-wheel drive is optional. At this point, BMW hasn’t provided any information on when we can expect its release. Based on past years, the sales of the new X1 could start sometime in summer.
2023 BMW X1 Engine Specs
The latest statement reveals that BMW will continue to offers one powertrain on the X1. Power is routed thanks to a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that can generate 228 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. Moreover, the engine is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.
Front-wheel drive (FWD) is the standard setup with the sDrive version, while popular xDrive is available on the xDrive28i. A fuel-saving engine stop/restart function is also available, and it saves some fuel. However, it can be turned off if drivers find the action too jarring.
2023 BMW X1 Facelift
The overall styling of the new 2023 BMW X1 is in line with the BMW’s other SUVs. The total length of the X1 remains the same, and it measures a length of 175.5 inches, a maximum width of 71.7 inches, and a height of 62.9 inches. In the same class is Audi Q3, which’s slightly longer at 176.6 inches.
Noticeable exterior upgrades for 2023 include 18-inch Y-Spoke bi-color wheels, Satin aluminum roof rails, LED headlights, and taillights. The M Sport package is available as well, featuring high-gloss Shadowline roof rails, aerodynamic package, and stylish 18-inch M double-spoke wheels.
Cabin Upgrades
On the inside, the next-generation 2023 BMW X1 will be modern and techier. Basically, it shares the same interior design as the outgoing model. It comes in the form as a two rows seater, offering decent room for rear passengers. Compared to the previous generation, the new one comes with the center console that’s slightly angled toward the driver for ease of use.
On top of that, this small crossover features a large 8.8-inch touchscreen, a seven-speaker audio system, Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth, and few USB ports. These features are also available as well in the 2023 X1 model. The more upscale cabin can be found with upper trims. Clear gauges in the instrument cluster, a sporty steering wheel, and large paddle shifters are elements that separate this crossover from many models in its class.
2023 BMW X1 Release Date and Price
BMW didn’t provide any information regarding the release date of the 2023 X1. We should expect the X1 to go on sale sometime in summer. Without any major changes, pricing should remain the same.
